creative retreats for writers and researchers

With their emphasis on deep reflection, intimate work, and creative exploration, retreats are a balm to the creative soul, and essential for deepening our relationships not only with our work, but also with ourselves. Working and dreaming alongside others also allows us to build communities that will be essential to our continued thriving.

I’ve hosted a number of three-day retreats and am always inspired by what emerges from our time together.

My retreats emphasize creative play, non-linear experimentation, trust building, generosity, delight, and care, and are suitable for both creative writers and scholarly researchers.

What people are saying:

“I cannot thank you enough for offering this retreat this week, Sonja! I never would have gained the clarity on my project without it, and I am more relaxed after 3 days here than I would have been if I’d stayed home. It reminded me tocut the clutter and just write. Thank you so much!!”

“I am now able to look at my field of interest or papers/essays through multiple lenses – have learned new ways of expressing my ideas plus, I feel motivated and inspired to continue Thank You Sonja!!!”

“Exactly what I wanted. Have done other workshops more focused on publication and that was way more stressful. I liked the creativity and mix with our own work. Awesome.”

“I haven’t done such exercises since grade school, and it really got the creative juices flowing.”
